Facilitators

Juha Peurala

I have been listening to the voice of my heart, my own truth and essence, for over 20 years. During the past ten years, I have encountered thousands of people at retreats, sharing moments and space with devoted love — for them and for the mystery of life. Through this daily dedication and honesty toward my soul, I have come ever closer to a state of surrender to Life. I am balanced and deeply content as I follow my heart moment by moment, living in genuine presence with love. I celebrate daily challenges as I observe my own programmes and conditionings, dismantling the mind's control and living ever more freely in the flow. I take responsibility for my own happiness, my thoughts, words, and actions, creating the life I want to live. We all have the same possibilities. I am so important to the whole of existence that I am fully devoted to supporting myself and others in enjoying this magnificent roller coaster of love. We are all beautiful and significant cells of Mother Earth. Ahhhh!!! How wonderful it is to be ALIVE!!!

I have walked this journey of exploring conscious humanity for the past four years with deep dedication — but in truth, it all began long ago. Even as a little girl, I felt energies strongly, other people, their worlds, and how to be present as support by their side. Before my facilitator path, I trained in many therapeutic ways, seeking understanding and tools to meet people. My curiosity has been bottomless. But only when I truly began to meet myself — my own mechanisms, defences, and stories — did I begin to find the ability to genuinely meet others. Today, my life's work is born from this place. It is not about doing or fixing, but about holding space. Space where one can be seen — and perhaps for the first time, also see oneself. Also to be afraid without being overwhelmed by fear. I am deeply devoted to life as it is. I continuously explore my own layers, unravel conditionings, and open more and more to what is true in this moment. This journey is not finished, nor does it need to be. I feel that in each of us there is an enormous capacity to see, to love, and to be liberated. And when we dare to meet ourselves honestly, the world can open up and become a brighter place to live our potential from a full heart. For me, this work is a calling to live love into reality — in myself, in others, and in this moment.

In me as a facilitator there is peace — not silence, but space. Space where one has permission to enter exactly as one is in that moment. I don't try to fill the room — quite the opposite. I keep it open. My journey began about four years ago when I attended my first retreat. It completely transformed my life. Something clicked into place, but at the same time a world opened up that I had not seen before. Since then, I have deepened into this path ever more — not to become finished, but to understand. I continuously explore myself, and it is actually at retreats that I always find new sides of myself. I mirror others, listen, observe… and often insights arise in those quiet moments that cannot be forced. For me, facilitation is not teaching. It is being together. In me there is both softness and firmness. I don't force anyone into anything, but I also don't avoid what wants to be seen. When the moment is right, I dare to say things out loud — gently, but directly. I don't see anyone as unfinished. I see us all as versions of ourselves in one moment — in constant movement, changing and opening. And perhaps it is from exactly that place that genuine encounter is born. For me, what matters most is not changing anyone. I want to create a space where each person can encounter themselves — and through that, find their own direction.

For me, the most important thing in facilitation is presence. Only through presence can I access what is, in each moment, the best support for myself and for others. It may be silence. It may be song. It may be closeness. It may be giving space. It may be direct speech. It may be asking a question. There is no textbook for facilitation. No rules to follow that can guarantee a good outcome — and this is precisely a very important medicine for me. By profession I am a software developer, but I also enjoy putting on the mask of a musician. I love integration and supporting the retreat experience and human processes through my presence. At retreats, we are all — participants and facilitators alike — co-creating a unique experience together. I am grateful to be a part of this.
